GEO1 provides real-time graphic overlay on video. Almost any vector graphic in a Google Earth KML file can be displayed for the crew, pilot, and sensor operator to view while in the air. The video with the overlay can be easily recorded for post-acquisition analysis. For example, right-of-way boundaries can be viewed for more efficient vegetation management or structural encroachments.
Right-of-way boundaries are displayed with the transmission centerline in real-time. Street names and crossings are also available.
Benefits of Real-Time Graphic Overlays
• View corridor right-of-way boundaries in real-time
• Overlays enable more cost-effective flights
• Analysis starts with acquisition.
Accurate Video of Invisible Assets
Real-time graphic overlay of pipeline routes ensures that the pilot and crew are viewing the correct corridor. When the assets are buried below the earth, the only accurate way to know where encroachments are a credible threat is to view the location of the line in real-time.
In this sample, the blue line shows the location of the existing buried pipeline and potential threats. Accuracy at 500 AGL is within 5-10 feet.
Potential Threat Assessment Visualization
Real-time vector graphics show the threat levels at the horizontal offset to the rail corridor.
Threat “corridors” can easily be created using our automated process to display offsets from the transportation corridor. In the sample, offsets of 50, 100, 200, 300 and 500 feet have been created to show the potential areas that would be affected in the event of a tank car rupture.
Pre-Visualization of New Projects
The GEO1 graphic overlay capability can also be used to display a geo-located graphic wireframe of a proposed new structure. The structure is accurately located at the correct GPS coordinates, and adjusted for height and width.
