Experienced Flight Crews
Flight critical operations start with an experienced crew. All of our drone pilots have full size helicopter experience either as a commercial pilot or sensor operator.
Our Chief Pilot is a commercial helicopter pilot with over 6,500 hours of flight time. His experience includes 2,500 hours in the “wire environment” plus power line construction, corridor survey, lidar, and video applications. In addition to Part 107, he holds FAA certification as an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and advanced Flight Instructor ratings (CFI, CFII).
Sub-Station IR Inspection
Our UAS platform delivers a unique perspective for infrared (IR) inspection of electrical substations. A live data and video downlink can be viewed in real-time, or transmitted for live viewing by the client. Our team consists of a dedicated FAA approved pilot, dedicated camera operator and safety observers. All crew are in contact via headsets to continually monitor the position of the UAS.
A UAS IR inspection is a valuable addition to in-house inspection by hand-held IR sensors. Together, these sensors provide invaluable information for preventative maintenance.
Platform and Payload Capacity
Our DJI Matrice 600 Pro utilizes RTK for highly accurate positioning and stability. With a payload capacity up to 12 lbs, we can easily mount a 4K UHD Video Camera, Phase One 100 megapixel mapping camera, IR sensor with radiometric accuracy, or a LiDAR scanner. Our teams show up with multiple sets of batteries for extended flight time. The GEO1 team handles all FAA flight notifications, safety briefings, and post-flight deliverables.
